This is Grace, Clara’s big sister. She is the absolute funniest little girl. And she never sits still. I managed to get this one of her while she was in the pool. I wasn’t joking when I said I am one lucky aunty.

I was lucky enough to go to Denver last week and meet my new niece, Clara. I realize I am a little biased, but isn’t she beautiful? I’m already in love…and happy to report I am no longer baby hungry. Not even a little bit.

i {heart} faces photo walk
I was asked to lead a photo walk last weekend for one of my favorite websites…i heart faces. The walk took place in 20 cities across the US but I’m pretty sure the other 19 cities were jealous that they couldn’t be here in Las Vegas, because we are just that cool 
I have to admit that I may have been a little nervous…but it was all for nothing. We had a great time! I met some really great people and I absolutely love talking photography with anyone.
Here are a few of my shots from the walk, although I spent most of my time talking instead of shooting!

AnneMarie and I braved hurricane force winds to spend the afternoon in Red Rock taking her portraits. She is a natural in front of the camera so it didn’t even faze her! She looked beautiful from beginning to end. We also braved various thorn and sticker bushes while hiking through the brush. She is the Salutatorian of her graduating class, so naturally she was smart enough to wear real shoes on our photo shoot. I, on the other hand, graduated by the skin of my teeth, so I showed up in flip-flops. Let’s just say it wasn’t the best choice I made that week 
These last shots crack me up. AnneMarie’s mom made a comment about the fact that AnneMarie was posing next to an outhouse. These shots were her reaction. I love it!
I had a great time!

Sarah and I had to reschedule her shoot four times because of the weather, so we decided to outsmart the wind and meet at 5:30am. It worked…we won! It was an amazingly beautiful morning. And I do have to say that we had a really fun time despite being exhausted 
After laying on streets and sidewalks, and in deserts and gutters for Sarah…she has kindly promised to take me shopping before she goes away to college. I am fashionally (my own awesome word) challenged and she is so not. I can’t wait She is so much fun!

I love taking Senior portraits. It is my absolute favorite. They make me feel wonderfully young and old, all at the same time. But every time I leave them, and go home and load the pictures onto my computer, I become painfully aware of the fact that I looked nothing like this when I was 17. Sure, I probably thought I did, but I’ve seen the pictures…not even close Is it me, or are they making them more beautiful these days? 
And as sure as I am that I looked nothing like this when I was 17…I’m even more sure I didn’t move like this girl! Alex, you are amazing!
