The Halas Family

You can’t tell by looking, but 4 out of 5 of this beautiful family were sick, and have been for a month. Mom called the night before to give me a heads up “just in case” they weren’t up to it. I am so glad everything worked out and we went ahead with the session and didn’t reschedule. It was a bit cool and windy but the kids didn’t seem to mind. And they were so much fun to be with. I wanted to take the kids home with me and have big sister teach me how to do a jazz walk!

One of my favorite parts of photography, that I didn’t anticipate, is getting to become an honorary member of the family when I take pictures of people. I get to be a part of their private interactions with each other and experience their family dynamics. I am grateful each and every time that they trust me enough to let me in and give me an opportunity to be a part of it.
