I love taking Senior portraits. It is my absolute favorite. They make me feel wonderfully young and old, all at the same time. But every time I leave them, and go home and load the pictures onto my computer, I become painfully aware of the fact that I looked nothing like this when I was 17. Sure, I probably thought I did, but I’ve seen the pictures…not even close ;) Is it me, or are they making them more beautiful these days? 
And as sure as I am that I looked nothing like this when I was 17…I’m even more sure I didn’t move like this girl! Alex, you are amazing!

I had the best time hanging out with this beautiful family and their great friends. I love when I meet people who are truly genuine and nice…and when they are really fun it is like icing on the cake. I am grateful they were comfortable enough with me to let me in their rooms with a camera while they were in their underwear ;)

cool… | Las Vegas Photographer
This post is way overdue, but I wanted to make sure I mention my awesome experience at my mentoring session with Diana of Yan Photography last month. I had the best time! She is such a genuinely nice and cool person. I also got to meet her husband Martin and he is just as nice and cool as she is. We had the most amazing french toast for breakfast and spent the day discussing all things photography. Could there be anything cooler? (you don’t really have to answer that)
We had a photoshoot with a really cute family in this cool laundromat. Yan did most of the shooting while I stood quietly observing. I did sneak in a few shots…could this little girl be any cuter?
I just wanted to thank Diana for a great day and for all of the great advice! I am looking forward to this year.
And did I mention how cool it was in Provo? I nearly froze my rear end off :)

February 8, 2010 - 11:13 pm - hi melissa! you don't know me since i was no longer living at home when you moved in, but we are apparently neighbors! my maiden name is stevens and we are living in my parent's house (rick and carolyn) til the end of the summer. i was told you also do photography by the ladies in RS and thought i'd come check it out. you do some seriously awesome work! just wanted to let you know i like your photos and new blog. it's also fun to recognize a lot of your clients :) your daughter's name was actually brought up as a possible babysitter. we have 2 little ones. well, hopefully i'll meet you soon. i'm home most all the time if you ever want to get together and talk/do photography :)

Finally part 3! I swear I didn’t forget…it has just been so crazy around here with all of the Christmas activities and preparations. And when you are crazy busy with no extra time for anything, of course you get sick. All is well now and we are officially ready for the holidays.
